Background
Legendary gallerist Fay Gold, a trailblazer in the contemporary art world and an icon in the Atlanta arts community was honored at a golden gala planned and executed by A. Brown Olmstead Associates (ABOA). The event paid tribute to Gold’s contributions to the art world while supporting a cause close to her heart: National Jewish Health.
Gold’s legacy spans more than four decades, having introduced the American Southeast to groundbreaking artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Cindy Sherman, and Robert Mapplethorpe. The evening celebrated her life’s work and launched the Fay Gold Respiratory Research Fund at National Jewish Health.
Event Highlights
- Theme & Atmosphere: A black-tie event with a “touch of gold,” the evening featured elegant design elements inspired by Fay’s refined artistic vision. A red carpet entrance, artful lighting, and curated golden accents set a tone of glamour and artful sophistication.
- Entertainment: The Bee Sharps, a premier SCAD vocal ensemble, delivered live entertainment.
- Hosted in the iconic Galleria of the Woodruff Arts Center, the venue offered the ideal blend of artistic legacy and architectural elegance.
- Art Retrospective & Auction: Art donated by many artists was on display for the evening. 29 pieces were sold by silent and live auctioning by the end of the evening.
Results & Impact
- $650,000 was raised through the event directly supporting National Jewish Health, the leading medical institution in the nation focused on respiratory, cardiac, immune, and related disorders.
- Close to 300 guests were in attendance.
- Fay Gold’s status was once again recognized throughout the evening. As a transformative figure in the American art scene, her contributions to art and medicine will continue through the Fay Gold Respiratory Research Fund
